Automation engineer
Primary responsibilities
• Analysis and definition of requirements for the development of process control systems for our partner’s Accelerator and Target Station components.
• Prepare functional specifications in conjunction with process engineers.
• Specification of PLC configurations and controls architectures.
• Prepare specifications for PLC and HMI SW development.
• PLC SW development for minor changes or upgrades.
• Prepare outsourcing specifications and support associated procurement
• Interaction with commercial partners to ensure timely delivery of specified systems.
• Definition and implementation of verification plans to ensure correct quality of commercial deliveries
• Review HW & SW design to ensure compliance with our partner’s procedures and rules.
• Review inspection and test plans provided by commercial partners and take part in test and commissioning activities
• Maintenance, support and improvements of delivered components.
• Ensure that all work executed in accordance with our partner’s quality assurance, ICS integration strategy and ESH policies
• Actively participate in work with deliverable and process quality
• Definition and implementation of verification plans to ensure correct quality of commercial deliveries
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, technology or science
• 3+ years in developing, integrating and commissioning industrial automation system
• 3+ years of PLC development on Siemens TIA Portal
• 2+ years of PLC development on other PLC brands like Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradley, Schneider, Beckhoff
• Experience in verification and validation of industrial automation systems
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Excellent oral and written English skills are mandatory; knowledge of other European languages would be an advantage
